Yes I am still alive!!! [Jul. 4th, 2004|05:55 pm]
Oy ok I vow to get a little bit more on track with LJ here.

Ok, recap, um I have a girlfriend, I moved out of the house, I am almost done my Yoga teacher training, I bought two cats, I am turning into a typical lesbian! LMAO!

Yeah life is good and hopefully tomorrow I will have a job, with John Kerry's campaign. Yes it is nice to feel like a productive member of society and actually make some money instead of relying on Dawn' unemployment and ebay.

I was reading Sam's LJ and I realized how I miss going to Yoga with her. :( I haven't gone to a yoga class, although I have been practicing a little at home, barely, due to lack of time and most of all lack of funds. Don't want to wrack up another $3000 on my Dad's credit card, no that will not go over well.

Sam,when Dawn and I come up to see you in NYC we're doing Jivamukti Center together again (remember that first time? LOL) We'll do it in the morning (9-10 am), Dawn will be asleep she will never notice we ever left.

Christmas Extravaganza [Dec. 27th, 2003|02:10 pm]
[Current Mood |accomplishedaccomplished]
[Current Music |Billy Idol "Craddle of Love"]

Well to much of my personal delight Xmas turned out well!

I went to Eddie and Judith's party and I am sorry to say but it was nice not to have my dad's heavy, dark energy hovering about. Last year he showed up wearing an ascott and spent the majority of the evening scowling and brooding in the corner, pretty much freaking everyone out. This year the consensus was to the tone of "I'm glad there aren't any ascotts here this year!"

And of course with Judith being Puerto Rican and with her fellow Boriqua posse the party too a turn where we were all singing and dancing to the festive tunes of the season from the island. La bomba!

Poconos was fun and interesting. Suzi showed up at the party in, of course, a full length Santa Clause style coat! Big black leather belt buckle and all! Shuffling in with a "Ho ho ho" I of course responded with "Who are you calling a ho??" He he, yes I can be clever sometimes.

I got the best presents!!!!!!!!! Mom got me a gift certificate to Touchables, one of the most fabulous lingerie stores in the city. One pet peve of having large breasts, your bras break down faster, grrrr. However....the best ones were the meditation shawl (a blessed one) given to me by mom (wait until you all see it!), a fantastic red decorated scarf from a friend in the Poconos, and from Suzi, a furry hat that you can pet! Yes I made out like a bandit this year, of course. ;-)

Poor Roger though got sick coming up. What were we thinking making him drive in the car for an overnight trip??? That poor pussy. We were only 20 minutes away from our destination when the poor baby let out this deep, loud meow from the Exorcist and then proceded to throw up. BUt he is doing better now, however we are surely cutting down on the car trips for the poor kitty, too stressful.

Crowd Surfing in KOP! [Dec. 22nd, 2003|08:24 pm]
[Current Mood |dazed]
[Current Music |Krishna Das]

Ok I finally got my pathetic ass in gear and got some Xmas shopping done! And now to wrap, of course another thing to procrastinate on.

But yes I braved the last minute shopping crowd of the King of Prussia Mall, which really was not too bad. The way ppl talk I expected things to be a lot worse. Or maybe they are and I just have really high standards for insanity.

I should also receive the record for holding 'it' in for the longest length of time. LOL I must get it from my grandmother.

A Winter Solstice Kirtan [Dec. 20th, 2003|10:51 pm]
[Current Mood |peacefulpeaceful]
[Current Music |Bhagavan Das]

Lokaha Samasta Sukhino Bhavantu
Shanti shanti shanti

Only one little snag on this whole evening. I did a little work so I did not have to pay the $12 cover price for this Kirtan (spiritual concert), but my duty was to sign people in and make sure they pay!

That was annoying b/c I ended up having to watch the door, so I was not able to completely sit back, relax and enjoy the events and music.

However, it was a nice evening. David (fearless leader of said Kirtan) at times when singing or chanting actuall sounds like Bob Dylan (so now imagine Bob Dylan singing Om Nama Shivaya). Saw the fabulous Goddesses of course: Rhoni, Marni, Dhyana, Susan, and many others.

Overall, very shanti (peaceful). I did set my mind on my intention for this evening, sending out the metta saluation to all those who are on my mind and in my heart: May you be safe, may you be well, may you be joyful, may you be free.

What did they put in that stuff? [Dec. 19th, 2003|06:09 pm]
[Current Mood |drowzy]

Amazingly, Sam and i got our butts in gear this morning and managed to get over to the Jivamukti center in time for our 12:00 yoga class. This was the first time in a long time Sam had seriously done yoga, and she did extremely well! Jai Sam!!!! I was a little concerned that she was going to push herself too much, and the fact that the instructor was depending on many of the students to know what the positions were when he called them out "ok, come into downward-facing dog, now into warrior 1 and warrior 2...". Other than that it was a successful endeavor.

We then had Indian food for lunch which was incredibly yummy, however we found ourselves quite sleepy afterwards.....mmmmmmmm must nap.

(no subject) [Dec. 18th, 2003|08:53 pm]
I believe one of the greatest things you can hear, from anyone and anywhere, is welcome home. As Sam and I entered the building into the lovely building on the Upper East Side where the familia de Manewitz hang their hat, that is exactly what the doorman chided: "Welcome home!"

Even though it was not directed to me, emotional memory is very powerful and a very warm, tender, surging feeling welded up in me. Remebering how it feels to me to hear that, "Welcome home", whether it's welcome back to your home city, home town, home street, the house you grew up in, or where ever you decide to call home.

Well we are in NYC now, tomorrow the plans are to go see an improv production called "The Upright Citizens Brigade", Geoff is supposidly joining us so it will be lovely to see him before he heads back to L.A.

Got the schedule from the Jivamukti Center! Dragging Sam to a class tomorrow at 12 (so no need to get up at the butt-crack of dawn) and to make this little transition easier on her, there is a very attractive Jewish guy teaching the class. Ah, I love taking care of my friends when I can. :)

Patty cake? [Dec. 17th, 2003|05:17 pm]
Amazing how an individual, and the individual I have in mind is Dhyana (no! I am NOT obsessed w/ her! Yes, infatuated, hasn't gotten to an obsession....yet). Anyhoo, amazing how one individual can, say, master the Intermediate and most likely most of the advanced series of the Ashtanga asanas but when doing a Kundalini hand game, somehow cannot keep a rhythem that she, herself, initiated.

Ok so what am I babbling on about here? Well last night at Kundalini yoga Dhyana has us get into pairs (and I was her partner and feeling like a little school boy was all 'yippee skippee!') doing, believe it or not, a clapping hand game, for the purpose of moving and igniting energy.

It was too funny, Dhyana (and I was a bit of a culprit as well) could not keep the rhythem! We kept messing up, having to start over again. Oh and then she decides to add a chant to the activity, and of course I had to add the crack "ok, we're having enough trouble w/ the hand gestures alone and now you want to add a chant?" However, we ended up pretty much laughing the whole time. I just love that grrl!

Okeys well I am off to NYC tomorrow with Sam and I am greatly looking forward to it!!!!

Of course my lovelies I shall let you all know how that goes, as well as the Kirtan on Saturday night.

Sat nam!

I believe this suits me [Dec. 16th, 2003|02:38 pm]
You represent... kindness.
You represent... kindness.
You're a very gentle, kind, and caring individual.
You truely care about people and are generally
well-liked. Though sometimes you may be
perceived as weak, you truely have a strong
heart and a good desire to help others.

What feeling do you represent?

DO NOT Mess with us! We are intuitive and psychic Goddesses!!!! [Dec. 15th, 2003|08:39 pm]
[Current Mood |Relaxed]
[Current Music |"Dragon:The Bruce Lee Story" soundtrack]

Ok, so naturally I resort to being 15 years old when my mother starts being, well, a mother. And of course I am grumbling "grrrr aight fuck it I am 23 and I am just never gonna tell her anything ever again!" Figuring that yes, I can be friends with my mother (and I am) but that due to her parental status and age the friendship does have limits.

What exactly am I refering to? I am going to New York this weekend to be with the lovely Samantha Manewitz who feels this dire need to head off to this crazy, extremely cold, and politically unsettled country, yes I am talking about Russia. :) (C'mon Sam, now is a good time to have a sense of humour!!!)So we're having a hurrah! for now fun time.

I was not sure if I was going up on Thursday or Friday (got Friday off!) but Geoff and I played with the idea of going to see Nina Haggan on Thursday nite at this club in the city. I share with my mother my rough estimate of my plans, being that I might go up on Thursday afternoon and possibly spend the night with Geoff.

SO here is the mother interjection! SHe asks me not to do that, being that she doesn't feel comfortable with me staying w/ Geoff and his b/f. Naturally I get a little snippy about it, but she just expressed her initial discomfort. Nothing against Geoff she just senses some uneasiness there.

I just spoke with Geoff, who sounded quite frazzled, poor guy. And yep, he had a fight w/ Brett, his b/f and mentioned heading back to L.A. ASAP.

So yeah, definitely not a good idea to stay there now!!! Is that not amazing or what???
